Riding my bicycle along
Hollywood Boulevard today
I saw him in the crowd - noticed
him instantly. When we reached
each other, I said hi and asked
if he would mind if I took his
photo.
"You want my photo?"
Yeah, I said. There's nobody

-although his face was
evidently destroyed by something-
and his mouth reconstructed.

I asked him what happened.
"Shot," he said. "Shot in the
face." He motioned a gun
at close range being shot
directly into his face.

Andyou survived that? I asked.
"No," he said with a smile.
"I'm dead."
I apologized for what was
a stupid question, but it
was hard to fathom - gun shot-
close range - into his face. And
he lived.

So what happened? I asked.
Was it an accident, or did
someone mean to shoot you?

"I did it myself. Tried to kill
myself."

You did?
"Yeah."

Where?
"Arizona."

Phoenix?
"Tucson."

So tell me, how did it feel,
after you shot yourself in the

"Agony. The worst agony

Margaret, who weighed over

Told me he's on the street.
Homeless.

I asked him how bad it was

Movie Impressions: The Incredible Hulk

"Ang Lee's Hulk Sad!"

So what's the deal with Ang Lee's HULK? I mean it wasn't that bad......ok maybe It was, but who cares? Now there's a new Hulk and this one's not as bright green nor are his pants purple.

Edward Norton replaces Eric Bana(whom I consider to be much more awesome) as Bruce Banner and Liv Tyler replaces Jennifer Connelly as Betty Ross(Connelly being about 23 times more attractive). These two lead a pretty good cast, and deliver an overall satisfactory performance. Still the star of the movie is the Hulk himself, and truth be told I'm a bit conflicted. I liked Ang Lee's Hulk, or rather Industrial Lights and Magic's Hulk, I thought he was really well animated and his facial expressions in particular were very impressive, who cares about the skin color that resembles Nickelodeon ooze and the purple pants are not realistic, I mean come on, we're talking about a dude that turns green and becomes a giant when he gets angry. But Rhythm and Hue's Hulk(the new one) is really quite good too, he's animated in a very "realistic" way, meaning that he looks like he actually weighs what a giant would and he moves for the most part in a non cartoony way. There's a particular scene that I really liked where you can see Hulk's skin cracked near his shoulder right after you see bullets bounce off his skin that made me the graphics whore inside of me say "COOL!" Overall I'd have to give the nod to Rhythm and Hue's Hulk because unlike the previous movie they decided to show the Hulk for the most part in only dark settings where the sun could not make it look too unreal, and the one scene that was in the daylight was shot with crazy fast camera angles that also hid the "unrealness" of the hulk for the most part.

Now the reason why this film was made was because Ang Lee's lacked action, it was too "cerebral" Is the word most of the internet uses to condescendingly describe the film. In this sene The Incredible Hulk delivers, this film is short on back story and feelings and heavy on action, that's not to say that we don't see how Bruce feels about his situation but the movie doesn't emphazise on that too much. There's even a return of the "HULK SMASH!!!" line which I have to admit occured in a really REALLLY corny way. But the action scenes deliver, we get to see the Hulk take on the army a couple of times in different settings and even take on some sort of cloverfield-monster-only-a-baby-version-lookalike with pretty awesome results. Still at the end of the movie you get the feeling this was just the exposition of the story and there's gonna no doubt be a sequel, a trend I'm starting to really dislike.

Overall, the Incredible Hulk is good. Go see it. But see it in the afternoon when it's not 8 bucks, it's not really worth 8 bucks....Meaning it's not Iron Man Caliber, but then again what is??

Movie Impressions: Kung Fu Panda

Let me set the scene here, I'm super hyped for WALL-E, part of the reason why I wanted to go see Kung Fu Panda is because I KNEW that there would be a trailer for WALL-E, so a couple of weeks ago I decided I was gonna go just for that. But as the release date approached I was beginning to like the idea of an animated martial arts movie, after animation and martial arts are two of my favorite genre of films. So that was my bias coming in, now let's get to the movie itself.

Very Satisfying. The whole movie barely seemed like it was a Dreamworks movie, this is due to the fact that the whole style was taken very seriously and it was SELF CONTAINED. There were no incredibly out of place pop culture references as in others(Shark Tale, Madagascar) which is a breath of fresh air from this animation house. Also there are some moments of awesome cinematography, I'm talking about beautiful almost poetic scenes which give you a sense of inspiration and even make you channel Keanu Reeves as you say "Woah." The opening sequence in particular and the end credits showcase beautiful 2D animation that would make a pretty good Nickelodeon show or something.(and it probably will, mark my words) The best part of the movie by far however were the fight scenes. They were fast, but not chaotic always elegant and you never lost sight of what was going on. The Furious Five scenes in particular are awesome and each different animal moves in a way which is unique to the species, I really liked Crane's movements in particular. The story however is a bit formulaic but it's forgivable due to its short length. Jack Black delivers a pretty good performance but Po as a whole failed to be as lovable and memorable from his dialog as I was hoping he would be.

The movie as a whole is very satisfying and is well worth the money, It's good to see that the talented guys at Dreamworks are getting better at telling stories and at having awesome graphical styles. Hopefully Pixar and these guys keep pushing each other to tell great and unique stories that can only be told through animation.

Wale - The Mixtape About Nothing

For those of you that don't know Wale is a 23 year old rapper from DC, who just signed with the Mark Ronson backed label Allido(same label as Rhymefest), but more importantly the guy can rap. He's a smart dude, who's not just rapping about guns and crap, I think it's pretty clear that doesn't sell anymore. Anyway, as the name implies this mixtape is indeed inspired by Seinfeld and he even goes on to reference the show in a couple of songs...overall just awesome and even if(especially) if you don't like hip hop you should check it out. Ever looked for a video on youtube that you'd seen before but realized that it had been taken down due to "copyright infringment"?? Chances are it's on YouTomb, YouTomb is a research project by MIT Free culture which tracks down videos which have been taken down for said reason. Not only that but you can see who it was that requested these videos be taken down. Now you can't see the videos on the site, so what's the point? Well as the creator says "YouTomb was conceived to shed light on YouTube's practices, to educate the general public on the relevant copyright issues, and to provide helpful resources to users who have had their videos wrongfully taken down." So you can see exactly which videos NBC or Viacom or the WWE request be taken down. Pretty cool stuff.

I don't know this summer has been weird, after months of feeling trapped or constrained in school and complaining about it nonstop until a week ago when vacations started, I am now dreadfully bored. I think I need the structure. It's sad to say but I feel like not being told or instructed to do something leads to me being completely and utterly useless. I dunno maybe I'm overreacting. I am overreacting. It's no big deal really, I'll get over it...I dunno it kinda reminds me of One Day in the Life Of Ivan Denisovich maybe I've become used to life in the labor camp and anything outside of doing my job just terrifies the crap out of me. I mean what's the big deal anyway? Do I really need to be doing something? Yeah I do. I mean what's Frodo without the quest to destroy the one ring? Some lame little piece of crap Hobbit that's what he is. What's Mario without his constant quests for that floozy Daisy? Just some plumber....and what's Mario without being a plumber? Some Italian guy with incredibly jumping skills. Jumping Skills. That's what defines Mario I guess. You know what's cool? Luigi's jump. How he kicks the air and stay up there for a few extra seconds...it doesn't work in real life, believe me I know. It amazes me how young videogames are, I mean the oldest characters are like around my age, Mega Man was born the same year I was...and half of the middle school kids today have no idea what a Mega Man is. Did I just say Mega Man was born? That's a pretty weird thing to say about a sequence of bits. Dial up sucks, I could do so much more stuff if I had a fast connection, but I don't so see you later.

The World's Tallest Man Made Structure

As of TODAY March 20th, 2008 that title belongs to Burj Dubai, or Dubai Tower at over 650m and with a final height of 819 meters to be achieved later this year.
Here's a diagram comparing Burj Dubai to other great structures of our time. What's most amazing is that as imposing and magnificent as Burj Dubai is it will only reign as the world's tallest structure for a small period of time. Yup believe it or not two towers are right on its heels and they will even pass it by a large margin. First we have Al Burj which will be in Dubai as well and whose final height has not been revealed but many suspect it will be around 1200 meters atleast that is its proposed height.

The second of these buildings is the Burj Mubarak Al-Kabir of Kuwait, another booming economy of the middle east. This tower is proposed to be 1001 meters tall which is more than Burj Dubai by close to 200 meters. Still the final height for many of these buildings are kept secret because as soon as one firm shows off a new height the others race to modify their plans to make their building taller. It's amazing really the race for the tallest building, I wonder if these buildings will withstand the test of time....imagine if years from now when we're all gone if those towers will still be standing.

Every Kid's Dream

Now maybe that's not the case in America, but everywhere else in the world kids dream of one day being spotted by some coach of a big team playing alongside some of your idols, playing in the champion's league(Rafa Marquez ftw!), and eventually playing for your national team...Nike does an amazing job capturing that feeling.

Iron Man Impressions

Just got back from watching the latest comic book based movie, and I gotta say, I liked it! I mean I've always had a soft side for Iron Man because the suit is friggin' awesome and because underneath that awesome suit is a hardcore smart geek who built it. Tony Stark is what every nerd would want to be, rich, smart, cocky, women all over you, and the unlimited funds and time to tinker around and build whatever you want to be, so yeah I was looking forward to this movie. In that sense it did not fail, throughout the whole movie Tony Stark is that cocky sarcastic rich smart bastard who gets to play with awesome toys. And boy were they awesome! His set up is crazy, and there's some fictitious workstation that's like a 3d holographic thing you can interact with that has no chance of being made within the next 50 years but is still awesome. The Iron Man himself also looks incredible, I really have to congratulate the animators and engineers behind the graphics, because they look incredibly convincing and never look outlandish or too plasticky.

The story however does tend to drag. At a little over 2 hours it's not an especially long movie but the slow pace and lack of action makes it feel much longer. Also there's some bits of "humor" and characters that feel thrown in there only to please the waves of kids that will be flocking to see this movie.To be honest there's only a handful of true action scenes and I think the movie could have benefited from a bit more. I can't shake the feeling that this was just an expository film and that it's just building up for the sequel. The fact that there's no real strong antagonist only further illustrates this. The acting is pretty good, Robert Downey Jr. as stated before plays Tony Stark pretty incredibly and his character stays constant throughout, Gwyneth Paltrow has a good show and Jeff Bridges too.

Overall the movie is worth watching, I do really recommend it. If you're a geek it goes without saying that you need to be there, but even if you're not really one and are looking to be entertained go see it.

Also Iron Man owns a Wii!!!! You can see it right underneath his TV in his living room.

NFL Draft 08: NFC South Draft Analysis

Atlanta Falcons

Best pick: Some questioned their decision to trade back into the first round and get USC tackle Sam Baker, but it was the right move. He was a four-year starter for the Trojans and will be a 10-year starter for the Falcons, beginning as a rookie.

Questionable move: Taking Matt Ryan third overall. If Dorsey goes on to be a star and Ryan isn't the franchise passer they expect, look out.

Second-day gem: LSU corner Chevis Jackson, taken in the third round, doesn't run as well as scouts like, but he has everything else needed to be a successful corner on the next level.

Overall grade: B. I wouldn't have selected Ryan third overall, but they needed a passer. I get it. The rest of the draft was very good. Trading up to get Baker will pay off in a big way. Second-round pick Curtis Lofton is a run-stuffing linebacker and Jackson capped it off.



Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Best pick: I like first-round pick Aqib Talib as a player, but can he overcome the character issues? If he does, he's a steal.

Questionable move: They used their second-round pick on speedy receiver Dexter Jackson from Appalachian State when there were more prominent receivers on the board.

Second-day gem: Seventh-round running back Corey Boyd has the tools to make the Tampa Bay roster. He has good size and he's faster than scouts expected.

Overall grade: C+. If Talib turns out to be a star, it will be higher. If he has off-the-field issues, it will go even lower.



New Orleans Saints

Best pick: Their aggression to go up and draft USC defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis should be lauded. He will be an immediate starter.

Questionable move: I thought they took Indiana corner Tracy Porter too high in the second round. There were better options.

Second-day gem: Fifth-round pick Carl Nicks has some character concerns, but if he stays out of trouble he could develop into a starting-quality player.

Overall grade: B-. Landing Ellis is big, but there are questions about the other picks.



Carolina Panthers

Best pick: Third-round pick Charles Godfrey played corner and safety at Iowa, but he might be better suited to play safety in the NFL. He has a lot of range for that position.

Questionable move: A lot of people will question trading their 2009 first-round pick and other choices to move back into the first round to take tackle Jeff Otah. I like it, but it will be questioned.

Second-day gem: Fifth-round pick Gary Barnidge, a tight end from Louisville, is a nice receiving tight end who will help the Panthers passing game.

Overall grade: B-.
As much as I like top pick Jonathan Stewart, don't the Panthers have far greater needs than a running back?

NFL Draft 08: NFC East Draft Analysis

The NFC East is being regarded as one of the strongest divisions in the entire league. And why not? This last season, three of the teams made the playoffs, the Cowboys were as dominating on offense as any team, the Redskins showed how dangerous they can be with a little motivation, the Eagles are not a team you take lightly, ever, and of course, the Super Bowl champions, the Giants. The exciting thing about all of their drafts is that none of these teams were trying to fill holes or rebuild, but to solidify positions aggressively. Here’s a look at the NFC East’s 2008 draft.

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys drafted who they set out to get with their two first-round picks. They needed a runningback and depth at cornerback. By passing on the higher touted Rashard Mendenhall and going with Arkansas running back Felix Jones, the Cowboys showed their commitment to Marion Barber III. Mendenhall doesn’t provide the change of pace that Jones has, nor valuable return ability. However, if Barber does ask for too much money in this contract year, the Cowboys did draft Tashard Choice a steal in the fourth (the same round that MBIII was taken in). The Cowboys moved up to select Mike Jenkins, a premiere cornerback from South Florida. Remember, they were essentially drafting as if Pacman Jones was not reinstated this year. They also took another defensive back from Boise St., Orlando Scandrick. TE Martellus Bennett is an interesting prospect.

Analysis: Much buzz was made out of the offensive weapons that were going to be drafted however no receiver was picked up this year. Remember, it was one season ago that the team had its most depth at WR. Also, the Cowboys did win their division and held the best record in the NFC. Depth at RB and CB were concerns that were addressed. And trading so many picks in the third and fourth for picks next year does free up some cap room, which is important with contract years for Terence Newman, T.O., and Marion Barber. Overall, a solid class for the Cowboys who need just a few contributors to stay on top of their division and finally win a playoff game.

Washington Redskins

The Redskins dealt there way to 10 overall picks and with it invested heavily on offensive weapons by grabbing WR’s Devin Thomas, and Malcolm Kelly. The Redskins also picked up TE Fred Davis, who is regarded as the best at his position. Offensive Lineman Chad Rinehard brings versatility to their line since he can play guard or tackle. Georgia Tech’s Durant Brooks was the only punter drafted, but he does have impressive stats (30 of his 65 punts were 50 yards or longer). Their most interesting pick however came late in day 2 when they drafted Hawaii QB Colt Brennan (a player every fan secretly wanted their team to draft). He isn’t big but does have great ability and stats. A fun project at the least. Safety Christopher Horton could be a good backup, if not at least a special teams player.

Analysis: Do you think new head coach Jim Zorn wants to air it out? Thomas, Kelly, and Davis were beasts in college, and all regarded as the best of their respective position. They will provide big targets, something that the offense doesn’t have. What does this mean for Santana Moss, Chris Cooley, and Randle-El? Not sure, but there are a lot of potential starters in this draft. A very impressive draft and a testament to the team’s new philosophy. But in this copy-cat league, it is interesting that a pass-rushing defensive end wasn’t a priority for the Redskins. It did work well for the Giants. They picked one up in the seventh.

New York Giants

The Giants had the last pick of the first round at 31. It would have been 32 but the Patriots forfeited their pick for cheating (I think everyone likes to point that out). Safety was a glaring weakness after they let Gibril Wilson walk to the Raiders. Kenny Phillips was taken with their first pick. Phillips was the top Safety available and comes from a very impressive line of Hurricane defensive backs. CB Terrell Thomas from USC could fill another key spot in the secondary. The Giants gambled on WR Mario Manningham in the third, a player who was considered the best at his position but who’s stock dropped after lying to teams at the combine. LB Jonathan Goff was a good find in the fifth, as well as QB Andre Woodson in the sixth.

Analysis: The Super Bowl Giants drafted very recognizable names. Coordinator Steve Spagnuolo just keeps getting defensive toys to play with. Kenny Phillips looks to be used in the same way Brian Dawkins is in Philadelphia. His arrival also means that James Butler will most likely move to strong safety. Manningham could be tremendously valuable to this team since they are trying to get young and fast at receiver. However, he is high risk, high reward. Kehl and Woodson have major upside, enough to keep the Giants invested. Adding depth at tackle was never addressed. A solid class from beginning to end, the Giants have many possible contributors to a team that is looking to repeat as Super Bowl Champions.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles traded their first round pick to Carolina. They picked up DL Trevor Laws in the second. He was arguably Notre Dame’s best player in 2007. They also got DeSean Jackson in the second, possibly the dynamic playmaker McNabb has been asking for. Jackson, a very exciting player could make his immediate impact in the return game. Michael McGlynn could make the move to tackle. He had a nice season opposite Jeff Otah. CB Jack Ikegwuonu is a great talent for the future that could be moved to safety. He suffered a knee injury and isn’t expected to play in 2008. Defensive back Quintin Demps out of UTEP is also an interesting prospect. Not known for his aggressiveness, but still a highlight reel with the ball in his hands.

Analysis: The Eagles 10 picks did touch all the major needs but never provided a wow-player. DeSean Jackson does seem like that player, but can you say Jeremy Bloom? It is possible that this class doesn’t produce much of an impact this year. Not a very great class in terms of impact players. Good prospects though, but adding significant offensive fire power was not addressed. Would have been nice to help McNabb compete with the much improved offenses in the division.

NFL Draft 08: First Round Analysis

Alright so this year's draft was pretty entertaining so let's start with some little tidbits...first the top 10.

• There was one offensive tackle taken(Jake Long), Three defensive ends(Chris Long, Vernon Gholston, Derrick Harvey), two defensive tackles(Glenn Dorsey, Sedrick Ellis), two linebackers(Keith Rivers, Jerod Mayo), one quarterback (Ryan) and one running back(Darren McFadden). That makes for 3 offensive and 7 defensive players.
• Out of the Top 10 USC was the only school with more than one pick(Sedrick Ellis, Keith Rivers)
• The Pac 10, Big 10, and ACC each had two picks in the top ten, while the SEC had four. The Big East and Big 12 had no picks in the top 10.
• Racist fact: 30 percent of the top 10 players drafted are white. 100 percent of the top three are white. haha

NFL Draft 08

Ahhhhh smell it! Football season is upon us!!! I love it. As You may know the Draft just ended today and even right now most teams are scrambling to sign undrafted rookies as free agents. Throughout this week you can look forward to me posting a team by team analysis of how each team did in my opinion as well as just some general stuff that jumped to me. Still though I just need to get some things off my head...so here's some little nuggets haha.

• 8!! That's the number of offensive linemen taken in the first round! 8! Definitely some reaches there.
• Kansas City FTW!!! Seriously these guys had a pretty awesome draft, Miami as well but not as much as the Chiefs.
• No WRs in the first round...yup, I guess it really says alot about these bunch of guys. I dunno, It's kinda weird that Alabama's DJ Hall didn't get drafted, I think he should have gotten drafted based solely on this Prothro like catch. Original Prothro Catch here
  
• Guess who DID get drafted?? My boy Haruki Nakamura of Cincinnati!! That's right he went to the Ravens as the second to last pick of the 6th round. I don't like who he went with (Bengals fan here) but I do like that he got drafted and has a chance to show what he's made of.

• Joe Flacco in the First round?!?! Brian Brohm to Green Bay?! What's going on here, a pair of horrible picks...Flacco in the first is a HUGE reach, and Brohm to Green Bay just really has to mess with Rodgers' mind. A couple of days ago I posted an image of Kanye's shoes from the Glow in the Dark Tour. Now this picture shows from where Kanye could have gotten some of his inspiration from. You know the more I see these shoes the more I like them, sure they have a useless purely aesthetic strap but I think they'd looks pretty sweet on me. Hopefully Nike releases these bad boys soon, I'm guessing somewhere around 200 dollars.

From his forthcoming album, It's posted on Kanye's blog but I don't really think It's a Kanye beat, doesn't have that soul! The song's called "Be a nigger too" It's pretty good, can't wait for this album to drop!

Download the song here. So What's your take on Nas's new project? Is the title just a gimmick or is he truly trying to get something through to everyone. Upon listening to this song I kinda get the feeling that Nas IS trying to be deep but trying something and actually achieving it are two different things. The flow on this song is ok, the beat is pretty good, the lyrics are superficially deep. It seems as if though Nas is trying to rid the word of its strong negative connotation by telling everyone that they too are "niggas" in the chorus. Overall it's an ok song, I really hope the beats are stronger in the rest of the album and that Nas doesn't try to drill his point in and actually has some fun so we can hear some good stuff, and I quote Nas when he says "Nas what the fans want is Illmatic, Stillmatic" So go on and deliver so you can retake the throne as the top MC in the game.

Seems all the commotion caused Yale's PR office to release the following statements:

Ms. Shvarts is engaged in performance art. Her art project includes visual representations, a press release and other narrative materials. She stated to three senior Yale University officials today, including two deans, that she did not impregnate herself and that she did not induce any miscarriages. The entire project is an art piece, a creative fiction designed to draw attention to the ambiguity surrounding form and function of a woman’s body.

She is an artist and has the right to express herself through performance art.

Had these acts been real, they would have violated basic ethical standards and raised serious mental and physical health concerns.

What a disturbing apalling act...(Aliza Shvarts)

Aliza Shvarts a senior art student at Yale artificially inseminated herself "as often as possible" while periodically taking abortifacient drugs to induce miscarriages for her senior art project. Seriously...what's this girl's malfunction? The Huffington post goes on to say more about her nine month "art project".

Shvarts will wrap hundreds of feet of plastic sheeting around this cube; lined between layers of the sheeting will be the blood from Shvarts' self-induced miscarriages mixed with Vaseline in order to prevent the blood from drying and to extend the blood throughout the plastic sheeting.

Aliza Shvarts will then project recorded videos onto the four sides of the cube. These videos, captured on a VHS camcorder, will show her experiencing miscarriages in her bathrooom tub, she said. Similar videos will be projected onto the walls of the room.

...uh what?? Since when is snuff art? Honestly there is something utterly disgusting and insane about what this creature has done. What point is she trying to get across or what...seriously this isn't art. It's snuff. I bet she thinks the holocaust is equivalent to the mona lisa...something truly disgusting.

I feel obligated as the only Bengals fan in West Texas and an ardent supporter of Ocho Cinco in the past to talk about this....

How many teams in the league have a quarterback that plays at the level Palmer does? I can think of two( it would be three but Favre is out) Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. Neither of those guy's teams will have you because they really don't need you, plus they won't spend money on you. So let's look a tier below, Drew Brees, Eli Manning, Tony Romo. The Saints might take you but they're worse off than the Bengals, the Giants are already loaded at receiver, and I really don't see the Cowboys spending so much just to get you. Sooo...Seattle and St. Louis...the Rams suck too so I don't see why you would want to go there, and I really don't see Seattle taking you.....so who would want you?

Chicago? Good luck trying to catch anything Rex Grossman touches. Atlanta? Joey Harrington ain't much better. Carolina? their whole offense sucks....The point is you have it pretty good at Cincy. An amazing quarterback, an offense-centric team, and a great guy to play alongside with, I'm talking about 84.

So go ahead and keep making a scene and demanding a trade, I hope you do get it...so you can see just how great you had it and your career comes to a screeching halt. Either way you won't be missed that much in Cincy, you know why? I got two letters followed by an obscenely long last name.

So, the championship game finished a while ago and I still can't believe what's happened. Honestly, you had the game in your hands Memphis, but you let it go. Now it's not fair to put the blame squarely on one thing or person, but I will. Ladies and Gentlemen I give you Chris Douglas-Roberts
The 21 year old guard and true leader of the Memphis Tigers with an excerpt of the constitution tattooed on his right arm who could have ended the game in regulation if he had only made those two free throws. Honestly, here's a guy who just two days ago tore it up against UCLA and has been doing so all year but couldn't sink two shots to end the game. Way to choke buddy. You'll never get another shot to win a national championship.

Ok ok ok, so it's not fair to blame it all on him so let's blame it on that Derrick Rose three/two pointer. Still Derrick Rose didn't do crap until the second half, prior to the game starting they made a big deal about how he had the runs on sunday and wether he would play today or not. Let that be a lesson to everyone about the horrors of the "tex-mex" crap-for-food in San Antonio....it's gonna give you the runs, and you WILL lose the national championship due to the uncomfort and loss of speed which is caused by the quivery colon that comes as a side effect of mixing pineapple and red chiles with ground beef and chives or whatever the crap they serve in those restaurants along the riverwalk. Derrick Rose should have not eaten there and should have done what the rest of us do and just take pictures on the "Selena" bridge.

So in summary, Kansas sucks. Schools can only be good in either football or basketball not both of them. Who do these guys think they are? Florida? On the plus side their football coach IS the world's smartest walrus and Todd Reesing is from Texas so I guess it's not all bad....still what the crap does "Rock Chalk Jay-Hawk" mean??? Leave it to white people to come up with the lamest crap. In all I'm glad basketball season is finally over and we can move on to the truly important sport, Football! Would have been nice if C-USA took home the title though....guess that won't be happening, Ever.

This Just In: 60% of photographers are PIRATES!

So It seems that about 60% of all users that use Photoshop are using it illegally, atleast according to a survey by Epic Edits.
The chart on the right shows what percentage of the surveyed photographers used Photoshop, and the one on the right shows of that nearly 90 percent how many of those used it illegally. Frankly I'm not surprised and I'm sure Adobe isn't; when you're the top of the line it's only normal that there's gonna be a bunch of people out there that want to use you but can't afford to. If anything I'd expect that number to be higher.

Soooo spring break pretty chill, nothing big just staying up late and sleeping in. It's pretty cool how it took less than a week to break the conditioning I had; by tuesday I was already waking up at 10 AM and going to sleep at 1 AM. I still need to clean my room and will probably do that later on tonight and tomorrow, on the plus side I did buy this cool little shelf thing to hold my DVDs.Note the trail mix on the adjacent shelf, and the two Dreamcasts on the floor...they were on the floor because I was cleaning them, ha. Also pay no attention to the sorting of the movies or lack thereof, because there is! They're by genres and by a little factor which I call the "RNMWC" or Rod Nunez Movie Watchability Constant" if anyone has an interest in the process behind calculating this constant please go ahead and contact me.

Anyway, this spring break has also been good when it comes to video games. For the first time in a looooong time I've been able to play for a bit, mostly Smash Bros which is pretty cool for the most part. I have a bit of a problem with subspace emissary, for one why? why do I need to do this? It seems like Sora was just trying to make this game more than what it is, it's a cool multiplayer centric chaotic brawler....and that's why it's big, don't do anymore with it. Still the little movies between chapters are pretty cool makes it almost worthwhile. So yeah, I've also been playing Patapon which is pretty simple and not as addicting as it was made out to be by some people but the little Patapon chants do get stuck in your head. On the DS front Advance Wars: Days of Ruin has been taking up most of my time, I'm stuck in one of the missions so screw it, I set it aside for a bit.

When I say "Velociraptor" what comes to mind? If you're anything like me the devilishly smart huge door-opening, t-rex fighting, huge lizards from Jurassic Park come to mind. You know what I'm talking about. these guys:
Well it turns out that's false! Now I always knew that maybe they didn't get it right and missed by a little bit, but it turns out they got it all wrong! Below I will show you what a real Velociraptor looks like:

As you can see Velociraptors had feathers! and wings, pretty awesome! They got the big claws right and everything, but yeah apparently velociraptors had feathers, as of 2007 paleontologists Alan Turner, Peter Makovicky, Mark Norell and colleagues reported the discovery of quill knobs on a well-preserved Velociraptor mongoliensis forearm from Mongolia, confirming the presence of feathers in this species. Now brace yourself cus here comes a big shock.....Velociraptors were tiny! small! smaller than a human by a lot! So not really scary. So there you go, the truth about velociraptors, go ahead and change that mental image. Not so scary at all anymore huh?

Stanford Here I Come!

In a pretty awesome move by the president of Stanford he's announced that tuition will no longer be charged to student's whose family earns less than $100,000 a year, also student's who's family makes less than $60,000 a year will get free room and board. This is possible because it's endowment has grown 22 percent to 17.2 billion!...more info here....In short I will be applying to Stanford, haha.

Ok, well maybe not SUCK, but seriously these two guys really dissapointed in the senior bowl. Not just the game but the whole week they impressed no one and both of their stock dropped dramatically; now I'm not saying these guys are not gonna make it at the next level (because Woodson will.) but I'm saying that they really wasted an opportunity to show the scouts what they're all about. Guess they still have the combine though, hopefully they make a good showing because honestly, when you look as cool as these guys do, you gotta back it up with some skill.
